THE WALK #3 “KYODO” Article with images
Taking a walk on the not so wild side of the Tokyo ward of Kyodo, which looked more nostalgic than the chic Shibuya, Shimokitazawa, or Jiyugaoka. I’d say it’s a little mix of country /city but very interesting photographically and also very peaceful. During my photo walk I saw some cool happenings that I photographed (you’ll see in the images below) like those heart statues, a cool Indian restaurant named “Namaste” which I really can relate to since I love Indian food and yoga, which I’ve been practicing for five years, and a hair salon named “Maniac” just to name a few. I just so happened to walk into a cool down home record shop named Husky Records ran by a cool ass dude named Kei that has a nice selection of records and CD’s. Kei also informed me that he is the 2nd generation owner of Husky Recordshttp://www.kyodo-kei.com/shop003 . As usual I when I visit Kyodo I’ll be a fool not to stop by my favorite ramen shop for an awesome dining experience at Ivan Ramen Plus (that four cheese mazeman & meatball tomato rice) is to die for. Ivan Ramen Plus is a ramen restaurant owned by a chef from New York named Ivan Orkin. Thanks, Ivan. I highly recommend that you visit Kyodo and check out Ivan Ramen Plus. http://www.ivanramen.com (in Japanese for English copy/paste cookie, click google translate)
