“A L’IL SOMETHIN-SOMETHIN BIT ABOUT ME”
My name is Harry Maison (aka BlackManInJapan), I’m a big lovable
and huggable brotha from a small town of Montpelier, Louisiana who loves the
New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, photography, people, practicing yoga and living
life to the fullest.
Love shooting photos in Japan (especially the Tokyo street scene).
I’ve been shooting for the past 21 years
and shooting digital for the past 11 years.
Since shooting digital I’ve accumulated over 100,000 photos for which I
plan to share with you over time.
I first came to Japan in September of 1980 with
the U.S. Navy stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Midway from 1980 ~ 1983
(now a museum in San Diego, CA). From
1983 ~ 1986 I was stationed at NAF Atsugi, Japan, and from 1986 ~ 1989 returned
to the USS Midway for my last tour in the Navy.
I’ve been in Japan ever since with no regrets, and Luvin every minute of it!
I’ve been married for over 28 years to my wonderful wife Miyako,
and one adult daughter named Patrice.
